Today I want to talk about the importance of having goals. The other day  I went on a date with my uncle, and we went to the car dealership to look at Jeeps. A red 4 door soft top Jeep Rubicon is my dream car, and is my main savings goal. It is important to have a detailed goal so you know what you want. If you don’t know where the destination is, how will you ever know when you’re there? Every successful business has specific goals; so why don’t many people normally  have goals?

  What is keeping you from writing down your goals? It is proven that people that write down their goals accomplish more. So with the new year coming up think of at least one or two goals with a detailed plan of how to reach them. Even a kid can learn how to set and achieve goals. One of my goals for last year was to be on the junior varsity volleyball team. I worked very hard training for the next season, and I made the team! I felt such a  sense of accomplishment when I had achieved the goal of being on the team.

A good idea would be to write down your goals frequently and talk about them with someone that will encourage you. Remember no goal will ever be reached if you don’t take action towards it. So set smaller goals to build up to the big one. It is easier to eat an elephant one bite at a time.
